Responsible for all administrative, financial, clinical, and staff development activities in the Respiratory Care Department.
Provides leadership and expertise to the Respiratory Care staff; functions as a resource person and mentor.
Responsible for coaching, counseling, disciplinary action, as well as performance evaluations of Respiratory Care Associates.
Recognizes and implements advances in Respiratory Care practices, in cooperation with Physicians and other departments, to provide optimum patient care.
Essential Functions:
Writes, reviews, and revises department policies and procedures, following professional, hospital, state, and federal guidelines.
Insures department compliance with established department and hospital policies and procedures.
Works collaboratively with associates, hospital departments, physicians, patients, and families to meet common goals, solve problems, and address issues as they arise.
Administers department budgets for the cost centers of Respiratory Care and Pulmonary Rehabilitation.
Develops, initiates, and coordinates performance / quality improvement processes for Respiratory Care.
Develops and provides education and yearly competency testing for Associates.
As requested, provides education for Nursing and ancillary clinical services Hires and coordinates adequate and competent staffing.
Qualifications:
Education:
Graduate of an AMA-approved School of Respiratory Therapy.
Registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care.
Licensed by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
Satisfactory completion of appropriate continuing education specific to job requirements and Pennsylvania state requirements.
Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree required.
Experience:
Previous management experience in Respiratory Care in a hospital setting preferred.
Other Skills:
Strong clinical skills.
Computer and typing skills, especially with Word and Excel.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Job Type:
Full-time Pay:
$40.
00 - $60.
00 per hour Schedule:
