Job
Summary:
The Assistant Sports Information Director reports directly to the Director of Sports Information and is responsible for contributing to the everyday operations of the Sports Information office, which serves a successful department of 24 intercollegiate sports teams in Division III and the Middle Atlantic Conference.
Supervisory
Responsibilities:
Oversee the Athletic Department's live broadcasts, video production, and creative marketing functions.
Serve as a primary contributor to the DelVal Athletics social media platforms in an effort to promote the department positively.
Contribute to all sports information game day operations including staffing and carrying out of stats, public address announcing, live broadcasts, and press box operations.
Work with coaches to promote program success via the website.
Manage and assist with all aspects related to student-workers and interns.
Essential Duties and
Responsibilities:
Assist in upholding the DelVal Athletics brand.
Create and carry out social media content in all forms and mediums.
Help to record all required statistics for all teams and report to the MAC and the NCAA.
Nominate student-athletes for relevant MAC, regional, and national awards by the published deadlines.
Update and maintain the DelVal Athletics website with current statistics, records, game notes, rosters and photos, both during the season and after the season ends, for archival purposes.
Write game recaps and player bios as needed.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of StatCrew and NCAA Live Stats.
General knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations for each sport.
Experience with website management and Sidearm Sports.
Extensive knowledge of video production, photo editing, and graphic design.
Extensive understanding and experience with social media platforms.
Ability to work nights and weekends.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Exceptional organizational and planning ability and desire to work creatively.
Ability to oversee and manage a team of student-workers.
Education and
Experience:
Bachelor's degree in communications, sports management, or related field.
Experience working in athletic communications, sports information, or media relations.
Sports Information experience at a higher education level preferred.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
