Job Description:
PURPOSE OF JOB:
Responsible for serving patients by greeting and helping them; scheduling procedure appointments; maintaining records and accounts; and operating communication systems.
Position requires attention to detail, ability to work both independently and within a team, and strong communication skills.
Essential Functions:
Demonstrates ability to effectively manage multiple phone lines in a courteous manner.
Identify yourself and obtains caller's reason for calling prior to placing call on hold.
Greets patient post office visit in polite, prompt, and helpful manner; verifies and updates patient data, including insurance if necessary.
Schedules procedures as requested; prints patient plan from office appointment if needed, completes prior authorization and requests referral for procedure date.
Presents information to patients regarding preparation for procedures, instructions for procedure day; and obtains pre-certifications as required by patients' health care insurers or managed care providers.
Perform other duties as assigned.
